When you get the once-upon-a-time caching of C list celebrities in the audience's is a stomach-churning appetites, you know your country's in an ill-smelling Quagmire Disguised as popular entertainment.

Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab is a Nigerian engineering student studying in London. He's also Accused of trying to blow up a plane today as it landed in Detroit using home made explosives. He has reportedly told investogators that he has links with Al-Qaeda.

This is all rather reminiscent of the case of Richard Reid, who had a bomb in his shoe and tried to light it with matches as the plane Flew over the Atlantic.
