Julien To Limit Comments To Media

CLaude  Julien is Apparently tired of seeing his critical words about members of the Bruins get, in his words, "twisted" by the media, so they told Reporters Tuesday they will no longer talk about individual players.

It could be for the time being, or it could be for the rest of the season.

Referencing Without specifics, the Bruins coach said his words have been "twisted" and that he's been criticized by media members for "throwing players under the bus" when he talks of them critically.

The message is clearly what about Julien's comments last week about Struggling Defensemen Dennis Wideman, and the reaction that it sparked both inside and outside the locker room. But they never got into specifics during a largely Testy exchange with a group of assembled print, web and TV Reporters at Ristuccia Arena.

"I'm just going to keep my answers pretty plain, because when I say too much some people tend Thurs twist it whatever way they want," said Julien. "So I'm just going to keep it to internal things."Read More.http://www.csnne.com/pages/landing?Julien-to-limit-comments-to-media-img-sr=1&blockID=168954&feedID=3944

The Goods: Sedins Rattle The Sabres

Daniel Sedin Sent a Blind between-the-legs pass Thurs Brad Lukowich, who put the puck top shelf is Ryan Miller early in the third period for his first goal of the season giving the Canucks a 3-2 win over the Sabers.

A slow first period, highlighted by a Ryan Kesler is a breakaway chance Miller, paved the way for an exciting final 40 minutes that had Vancouver and Buffalo Exchange five goals and Roberto Luongo and Miller put on a show.

The Sabers were on the board first with Adam Mair recording number one goal of the season 3:13 into the second. The Canucks responded exactly five minutes later with Mikael Samuelsson scoring his flashiest goal of the season as they deked Henrik Tallinder out of his skates before putting a smooth backhander through Miller's legs.

Vancouver took the lead a little over three minutes later thanks to a heads-up pass from Alex Burrows that sprung Henrik Sedin alone is a breakaway. Hank faked hand back and froze Miller before switching to his forehand and Burying the puck into the cage Yawning.

The Canucks took a 2-1 lead into the third period, but just 1:49 in, on the power play, the Sabers evened the score when a shot by Thomas Vanek squeaked past Luongo and he was unable to SNAG it before crossing the line.

Fans had visions of overtime and a shootout with this contest pinning Luongo's Team Canada against Team USA's Miller, but someone had to Give up the winner and the Buffalo netminder was unable to contend with the did-they-just-do-that ability of the Sedins are the game-winner.Read More.http://canucks.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=514989

I'm a little behind the curve for the New Year's cleanout, but I'm finally catching up and would like to start getting some junk out of my house. Once the junk is ™ for, I have to take quick action to get rid of it before it merges into the rest of the random junk basement or the kids get into it and Reclaim every last piece. Borders Group CEO Ron Marshall Resigns

Mr. Marshall, 55 years old, took over as CEO at Borders on Jan. 5, 2009. A turnaround specialist with a strong financial background, Mr. Marshall is credited with reducing debt at Borders, cutting expenses and gaining the confidence of the publishing community in the Struggling retail chain. However, Borders had a very weak Christmas period and must now prove that it can boost revenue.

A & P declined to comment. Mr. Marshall could not be reached for comment.

"Mr. Marshall leaves at a time when many retailers are having difficulty pulling customers into their stores. The book business is rife with sharp discounting online for hardcover books, and the fast-growing demand for $ 9.99 electronic book best-sellers is luring away consumers who only a few years ago made their book purchases at bookstores.

Under Mr. Marshall and Mark Bierley, the retailer's chief financial officer, Borders has sharply reduced its corporate overhead and also expanded into the e-book retail business by taking a stake in Kobo Inc., an e-book retailer that Canadian retailer Indigo Books & Music Inc. spun off as a standalone entity late last year. Borders is expected Thurs integrate Kobo's e-book store into Borders.com this year.

But the chain, Which competes head-to-head with Amazon.com Inc., Barnes & Noble Inc., and major discounters that sell a limited selection of books at cheap prices, has so far failed to prove that it can generate sales gains . Revenue at Borders' super-stores for the 11-week holiday period ended Jan. 16 dropped 15% to $ 649.2 million while same-store sales, a key economic indicator, also fell by 15%. Borders is expected to report results for its fiscal fourth quarter, Which Ends Jan. 30, in late March.Read More.http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704905604575026911812309410.html?mod=WSJ_Small%20Business_IndustryNews

"Poor-Children-Are-Stray-Animals" Bauer Was a Beneficiary Of Subsidized School Lunch Programs As a Child

At This Point, I almost expect that any politician who presents him (or her) self as "Holier-than-thou" is going to have some unholy skeletons in their closet.
Witness the recent sex-tapes and love-child revelations from former North Carolina Senator John Edwards, The InterContinental escapades of current South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, the affairs, so to speak, of fundamentalists, member of the "Family," Senator John Ensign now under investigation for payments made to his former mistress (who is the former wife of Ensign's former staffer), and the Hypocrisy of Senator David Vitter (R-LA), who loves to moralize about other people's lives but was himself paying for sex workers. ... well you know what. Then we have former New York Governor Elliot Spitzer, the caped crusader against prostitution who was nonetheless paying women for sex and ferreting them across state lines to do so ... a double no-no. The list goes on.
But since the pattern of Hypocrisy has primarily involved sex and sexuality, it did not dawn on me to think of people being hypocritical about school lunch programs.Read More.http://www.rhrealitycheck.org/node/12396
