Suicide Attack in Northwest Pakistan kills 10

A Suicide Attacker set off a bomb at a security checkpoint in northwest Pakistan on Saturday, killing at least 10 people and injuring 52, officials and a doctor said, underscoring the relentless security threat to this Islamic nation.

It was the second attack in Pakistan in less than 24 hours. Suicide Bombers killed 55 people in near-simultaneous blasts Saturday in the eastern city of Lahore.

In the Saturday violence, an Attacker driving a motorized three-wheeler Rickshaw detonated explosives at a road block Manned by soldiers and police in the town of Saidu Sharif in the Swat Valley, police official Qazi Farooq said.

Swat was the scene of months of violence last year between Islamists militants and Pakistan's security forces.

Lal Noor, a doctor at a local hospital, said 10 people died in the attack - one soldier, one policeman and eight Civilians - and another 52 were wounded.

The Pakistani military launched a major offensive in Swat early last year after the collapse of peace talks with local Taliban officials - who at the time controlled much of the valley.

We Understand that Jane did what they needed to do in order to find out who the real killer was, but how great was it that Lisbon punched him in the nose?!

We get that Jane was trying to prove a point to Lisbon that she should be happy that she has a life, but really, they should have let her be in his scheme. We thought that was just plain mean.

But, we did like that Jane said that if he was dying, they would call her. It Showed that he does have some feelings for her. Before Lisbon realized what Jane did, you could see it in her eyes that she was touched.

Jane really knows how to read people. They can tell right away if you are lying or telling the truth. How awesome would it be to have him be one of your friends? You could have him question you thought anyone was lying to you - better yet, teach you a couple tricks!

Russia To Build 12 Nuclear Plants in India

Giving a Fillip Thurs their ties, India and Russia on Friday signed 19 Pacts, including three in the civil nuclear field and one for purchase of 29 MiG-29 fighters besides inking the revised agreement is Gorshkov aircraft carrier, a deal that was stuck for three years over price.

Slain Religious Leader Laid To Rest in Karachi

Jalal Puri, the chief of the Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Khatami-e-Nabuwwat, his son and two other associates were killed on Thursday.

The Funerals were held at the Dar-ul-Uloom Islam Binoria Town in Karachi.

Strict security arrangements were in place at the mosque where thousands of mourners turned up to pay their last respects Thurs Mufti Jalal Puri.

Huzaifa his son, son-in-law Fakhruz Zaman and close associate Abdul Rahman were also killed in the attack that came late Thursday, as they left a neighborhood mosque after evening Prayers.

British Airways Crew Plan Strike

The Union Representing British Airways cabin crew says workers will strike for a total of seven days this month.

Unite says that workers will walk out for three days from March 20 and another four days from March 27 Friday's announcement comes after talks with BA management failed to solve a dispute over changes to pay and working conditions.

BA has been training around 1.000 workers from other departments at the airline to stand in for cabin crew.

Workers are unhappy about changes that include a pay freeze in 2010, a switch to part-time work for 3.000 staff and a reduction in cabin crew sizes is long-haul flights. Suicide Bombers Kill 39 in Pakistani City of Lahore

Pakistani police say 39 people have been killed and nearly 100 others wounded in two suicide bomb blasts in the eastern city of Lahore.

Authorities say the explosions occurred 15 seconds apart and targeted military vehicles in the city Friday morning. Polce say the suicide Bombers were on foot.

The incident is the second attack in Lahore this week. A suicide car bomb killed 13 people and wounded 70 others on Monday.

In a separate development, a Pakistani official says Jamil Soomro apparent Sectarian violence in the southern city of Karachi killed five people Thursday.

Gunmen fired on a car carrying hard-line religious leader Mufti Saeed Jalal Puri, killing him and three other people in the vehicle.
