Laxman was in sublime form and hit an unbeaten 143 Thurs notch up his fourth Test century in nine appearance here.
"It feels really good to play at Eden Gardens. I have always enjoyed playing in this ground. The people in Kolkata are always so warm and I always love coming here. I am glad that I could Able Thurs maintain the record even this time around, "Laxman said.
Having completed 1000 runs at this venue, Laxman said, "Playing at Eden is always great feeling. It will remain very special to get 1000 runs in a venue. I was a little disappointed that I was not Able to convert my fifties and sixties into hundreds. Looking at the positive side, I Was Able Thurs Consistently perform. "
Laxman also Eden Thanked the vociferous crowd for their hearty support all along.
"It's Encouraging that Eden Gardens is going to be renovated. Even though not all the galleries were available, the kind of passion you could see in the spectators with every runs, or Wicket (was inspiring), "he said.
"The way crowd erupted when Harbhajan (Singh) got two wickets in successive balls, it was unbelievable. The crowd in Kolkata and passion is just amazing, "Laxman added.
Incidentally, Laxman's 15th Test ton came is his marriage anniversary and the batsman dedicated this to his wife and kids.
