Sunday is The 16th Annual Philadelphia Marathon
Runners from all over are descending on Philadelphia this weekend, getting ready for Sunday's 16th annual Philadelphia marathon.
Mayor Michael Nutter welcomed some of the sponsors and runners to Philadelphia, touting the wonders of the 26.2 mile course:
"We have a flat course, it's a quick course; it's a scenic course. It really is a veritable running tour of the great city of Philadelphia."
The course winds past pretty much most major landmarks in the city including Penn’s Landing, Love Park, the zoo, Independence Mall, Memorial Hall, and Boathouse Row (see previous story).
There will be over 20 "cheer zones" for fans along the course, complete with entertainment and food.
