National Signing Day 2010: Cal Bears Grab Five-Star Safety Keenan Allen
The Penn State Nittany Lions and the Golden Bears were beneficiaries of his sudden interest. In the end, they chose the Bears.
Allen draws praise for his smooth and Able Coverage in the open field, "Which should be welcome news Thurs Cal fans who saw their secondary picked apart time after time last year.
The Bears lose defensive stud Syd'Quan Thompson back to the NFL Draft, but with Allen back in the field and Martin, King, and Whiteside upgrading the Bears' defense, Cal has reason to be optimistic about their Pac-10 hopes on the next field year.
They could end up with the top class in the Pac-10, depending on Lane Kiffin at USC's fortunes.
