'Race To The Top' Finalists To Be Announced
The State held a special session in January to change the way teachers are evaluated. The changes made it possible for Tennessee to qualify for a share of $ 4 billion.
Several education analysts think that Tennessee has a strong chance of qualifying as a finalist.
However, Gov.. Phil Bredesen said that Tennessee might lose Because two other southern states, Florida and Louisiana, are considered top contenders.
If Tennessee is not a finalist in the first round, it can reapply in June.
