Great American Smokeout 2009 set for this week

In acknowledgment of this year's Great American Smokeout Governor Brad Henry has proclaimed Nov. 14-21 as "Tobacco-Free Oklahoma Week" across the state of Oklahoma. He hopes the proclamation will raise awareness about tobacco-related issues.

In Oklahoma, tobacco is responsible for more than 6,000 deaths each year. An additional 120,000 Oklahomans suffer from cancer, heart disease and other chronic diseases caused by tobacco use or secondhand smoke.Morehttp://www.normantranscript.com/localnews/local_story_323011551
