KURBAAN's Below par Opening Shocks The industry!
was supposed to be a follow up to the year's biggest grosser, LOVE AAJ KAL, and a confirmation of Saif Ali Khan's position as a bankable solo hero. It was also expected to be the next production from Karan Johar that was to have continued the cent per cent (KAL HO NAA HO, KAAL, DOSTANA and WAKE UP SID) success record of Dharma Productions.

However, all the predictions were proved wrong and even some of the good reviews failed to lure the audience into the cinema on Friday, the 20th November to see the Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Vivek Oberoi starrer KURBAAN. Yet again, the audience showed (like on many previous occasions), that they have a mind of their own and refuse to be swayed by what the critics have to say (either way!).
The Rensil D'Silva directed KURBAAN saw an ordinary opening day in Mumbai and many other places and just a few centers saw a good start. Though all is not lost and trade is hoping for a good pick up, but unfortunately indications (word of mouth) are otherwise.
