AMD To Intro Blu-Ray Stereoscopic 3D Standard at CES 2010
So we already know that Nvidia plans are bringing the Blu-Ray 3D viewing to your homes, now it seems like AMD is not that far behind either.
According to a latest press release from AMD - it, along with CyberLink, plans are demonstrating the forthcoming Blu-ray standard stereoscopic 3D at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show, giving people a taste of high-fidelity 3D entertainment once reserved only for theaters.
AMD plans are bringing this technology to the shelves by second half of next year, probably at the same time as Nvidia. No information was given out in the press-release about AMD's partners, apart from CyberLink, in setting up format and hardware specifications for this standard.
According to CEO of CyberLink, "AMD has been a valuable partner, developing hardware optimized for the highest quality video and audio experience with PowerDVD Ultra,". They added, "With the addition of stereoscopic 3D support for the next generation of Blu-ray discs, we're ready to bring new consumers an incredible entertainment experience in the coming year. Our joint technology preview at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show will give everyone a taste of what's in store. "
