Biggest One Hit Wonders Of The Decade
Billboard has named Daniel Powter's Bad Day in 2006 hit the biggest one hit wonder of the noughties.
Powter topped the U.S. Billboard charts for 5 weeks in 2006, hitting such Heady heights they even performed on American Idol. The song was a worldwide hit reaching number 7 in the NZ charts, number 3 in Australia and number 2 in the UK.
Down for Powter, they took two years off and has not been Seen in the Billboard Top 100 since.
Coming in second in the list was the Terror Squad's Lean Back, "Which despite giving people in clubs a new dance move did not do much more for the group.
Tattoed pop group (Billboard called them a rock group but we're not so SURE of that label), Crazy Town, hit the top of the charts with Butterfly in March 2001 but in Billboard's countdown they're number 3 They hit Number 2 in NZ and number 1 in Norway, Finland and Germany. Sadly we've not heard anything from them in the charts since.
A surprise Thurs folks on this side of the world might be James Blunt's place at number 6 on the list.
The Brits ear-bleed inducing (sorry editorialising I know) You're Beautiful was as big a hit in the U.S. as it was everywhere else, hitting the top spot in 2006. But Blunt fans in the U.S. did not have big enough numbers and the best he's done in the Billboard charts since 66 is Good reason to move to the States? Maybe.
