New on DVD: 'Julie & Julia,' 'Public Enemies' and 'Lost' season 5
While the early Oscar buzz for Streep is probably overheated, she serves up a good time as Julia Child, who gained a measure of fame translating French cuisine to American kitchens. Amy Adams connects in a parallel story about a likeable blogger trying to master Child's recipes. Writer-director Nora Ephron ( "Sleepless in Seattle") balances the twin tales nicely, giving each enough time to marinate.
